Jaxon's 2 Month Check Up

Jack took Jaxon for his 2 month check up last week and our little boy is growing so fast. He is in the 91st percentile for height coming in at 24.5 inches and he is in the 67th percentile for weight, weighing in at 13 lbs. Some of his sleepers are already in the 6 month range just to fit his long body into them...but then they all look huge on him since he can't fill them out very well yet. :o)
In other news, Jack's been enjoying the opportunity to be a full time daddy while I've been going back to work. And this is what I came home to a while ago.
Jack was so excited when I walked in the door and said "Look what I did to Jaxon's hair!" I rushed in to check it out thinking he had shaved Jaxon's head, since he's been threatening to do that ever since Jaxon's baby hair started falling out, but instead, Jack proudly showed off Jaxon's mohawk. :o) It was pretty cute.
Here are some other pictures that daddy has taken of the fun the boys have had while mommy's away.
Looks like they're having fun! Oh, and for the "nakey" picture Jack said that Jaxon was totally pulling up the blanket to cover himself. :o) Ahhhh, what a cute boy!

Jaxon and the swaddle

Every new parent is taught by the nurses at the hospital to swaddle your baby tightly and this will help the baby sleep better and longer. Well, we have used the swaddle religiously since the day Jaxon was born, and every time we put him in it, Jack mentions how he would hate to be wrapped up so tightly like that. So, we decided to swaddle Jack too to see exactly how much he would hate it.
And of course after Jack tried it, we had to put me in the swaddle too.
Lately though, Jaxon has been breaking out of his swaddle in order to be more comfortable at night. Last week, I went in to get him when he started fussing and I found Jaxon completely naked except for his diaper. In his attempts to get out of his swaddle, he had wiggled himself completely out of his nightgown and the nightgown and blankets were all down around his ankles and he had shoved himself into the corner of the crib. It was the most unexpected thing to see for me going to check on him at 4 a.m. I couldn't help but just bust out laughing. :o) But I have learned my lesson...the swaddle is not so tight anymore when I put him to bed at night so Jaxon doesn't need to fight as hard to get out of it. :o)

Congratulations to Jack!!

So, not only is Jack walking in graduation ceremonies this week, but he also ROCKED his interview at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and they have invited him to be part of their graduating class of 2012!!! So, as soon as Jack finishes up school this spring term, looks like we will be heading back East. Well...that's the plan now. We are still waiting to hear back from other schools, but woooo hooooo to Jack for being so awesome cause now we know that we'll be going somewhere for sure, for sure by the end of the summer! I can't believe that the end of Provo is actually in sight. I have mixed feelings about it since Provo has been our home for soooooooooo long. We have had some many wonderful experiences here it will definitely be hard to leave...but at the same time, I'm so ready for the next phase in our lives and I'm super excited about that too. Anyhow, so kudos to Jack for being awesome amazing! :o)

Jaxon's Growing

Jaxon is so much fun! I love seeing him get bigger and learn new things. He started to smile a lot more starting last week and it's so fun to see him smile so big when he sees his mommy and daddy. He also started "cooing" too and so he makes noises back to us when we talk to him. His tummy has gotten a little less prominent, but only because he's just growing in length. And best of all, Jaxon has learned to sleep through the night...mostly. He's pretty good at going from 9:30 to about 5:30ish in the morning, so that has been very helpful as I've had to start going back to work. He's just such a good boy and we love him so much!

Jack's 28th Birthday

It seems after a new baby that other life events seem to get a little short changed. So, sorry Jack that we didn't do as much for your birthday this year as we have in the past. But it sure was nice to just have a relaxing day together with the whole family and we got to enjoy some nice dinners with family and friends too. So, happy 28th Jack! You don't look a day over 20! :o)

Easter

I have not updated our blog in a while, so I apologize that there's going to be a lot that I need to catch up on. But let's start off with Easter. We had a fun dinner with Jack's family and it was so nice to have Jaxon spend time with this cousins and grandparents.
We're so grateful for the Easter holiday and for the reminder it brings of the great love our Savior has for us. It was a wonderful Easter Sunday.
On a side note, as you can see in the picture of Jaxon with his cousin Lucy, that Jaxon is losing his baby hair. His new hair is coming in, but it's still peach fuzz, and not very visible. I can't wait until it grows in a little more. The comb over look is just not quite as attractive as a full head of hair look. :o)
