Jaxon's Baby Blessing

We are so grateful for everyone that was able to make it on such short notice to Jaxon's blessing. It was a wonderful experience and we're so glad we have so many family members close by who could attend and a special thanks to the Lau parents for coming all the way from Canada to join us. Thank you for everyone for making it such a beautiful experience for us. Jack did a great job in the blessing and the spirit was present. We are so grateful for the power of the priesthood and for Jack's worthiness to hold it that he is able to perform such a wonderful ordinance. And for the family that were unable to attend, you were sorely missed and you were in our thoughts.

Our Baby is Here!

Sorry this is a quick post, but we just wanted to let you all know that Jaxon, or Jack Enoch Madsen V came into our family on Monday Feb. 11th at 5:57 p.m. He weighed 8 lbs. 12 oz. and measured 21 inches. It was a long labor, but well worth it. We love him so much and are so excited to have him as part of our family. We're soooo excited!! :o)

Our Dear Prophet

I watched the funeral services for President Gordon B. Hinckley this past weekend and it was such a wonderful experience to first off be able to see so much of what was going on via television broadcast, but then also to be able to hear those beautiful thoughts and tributes given by those involved with the funeral services. President Hinckely was truly a prophet of God and he has touched my life and strengthened my testimony. Even in his passing, I am more inspired then ever to truly "be a little better, and stand a little taller." Farwell to a wonderful, wonderful man and thank you for sharing so much with us and with the world.

Nursery--but still a Study

We are only in a two bedroom apartment, so up until now, we've only had a study and a bedroom. With the baby coming, we've had to convert the study into a pseudo nursery...but without moving anything in there that is part of the study because we just don't have anywhere else to put things. And to say the least, after having lived together for 5 years now, Jack and I have accumulated a whole lotta stuff! So, I've been madly trying to figure out how to just "add" to the room to make it into a nursery while still have it function as the study that we need. And well, this is the result. Of course, my pictures only show the cute nursery stuff and not the overflow of things we have in the closet with the baby clothes and it's not showing the rest of the study that is still a study. :o) But the dresser is full and I think we have all that we are "supposed" to have to bring our baby home...now if only Baby Madsen would co-operate and come on time...:o)
P.S. If you couldn't tell, those are turtles on the wall...my sewing skills could use some help...;o)
P.P.S. We are also in search of a good pediatrician here in the Provo, Orem area, so feel free to give us some advice.
